Hello, I’m Sophie. I make silver and enamel jewellery and small enamelled objects from my home workshop in South Manchester.

I use a sgraffito technique with wet process enamel that often reflects my drawings. This is a process I developed whilst studying for my degree in Decorative Arts at Nottingham Trent University, where I produced a selection of enamelled 3D copper pebbles and chased silver pebbles for my graduate collection in 2019.

My work explores the tactile quality of objects and features a monochromatic palette. I like to take inspiration from textural surfaces and found objects I happen across whilst exploring rugged coastlines or just going about day to day life. I use photography as a reference and draw in alternative mediums such as collage or stitch which I use to inform my practice.
